for that to stand in court they would need to have reasonable
suspicions that there were drugs in the premises in the first
place, as the door was closed and I'm assuming there was no view
of people using drugs through the windows there was no evidence
of such, loud music and a refusal to open a door wouldnt
constitute probable cause in a case like that, it applies to
places that have been under observation for drug activity or
when there's an informant claiming there are drugs

in cali you can stand at your window (shut) and talk to them
if they say you NEED to open your door
you can put your hands in the air (in front of the window) and state: "if you have a warrant, i'll stand right here, otherwise we can talk just fine thru this window"

you can even add "i'm sorry, but i don't open my door for police" just be honest, not sarcastic, make a stand, they will work with you, unless you really have it commin

if you open your door, you lose your rights
if you even had any to begin with

I don't know about you guys but I don't just leave shit (edit: Illegal shit, my apartment is a fucking mess) strewn about my house.

Step outside, close the door, and talk to 'em. It's really not that hard and there's no reason to be a giant cock about everything.

Never open the door for the police ,always keep the door locked.

  Talk to them thru the door.As soon as you open the door to step out and talk to them ,that means they can claim they smelled pot or saw something....even if they did not.
  Never ever ever open the door.You think they will treat you with respect,they could give a fuck less what you think of them.
