Me too.

I could not agree with you more.

This is where our preferences depart.  I don't like the sun at all, especially while tripping.  It is far too bright.

I grew up the first 20 years of my life in San Diego.  Not recommended if you don't like warm, sunny weather.

Is that the reason why you moved to SF?
What about moving to Oregon?
Astoria maybe?

In essence, yes.  I moved specifically because of the weather, but the mycological aspect was also a major contributing factor!

At the time I was also considering Seattle, WA, however I was able to move sooner if I moved to the Bay Area, and I had never been to Oregon or Washington.

I have now been to WA and OR once each.  Went to WA in June of last year and OR in July of last year.  It was heaven.  And it wasn't even mushroom season!!

I want to plan an Azure trip to Oregon this year or next!

I am planning on going to Oregon next summer to see my old high school buddies. Oregon rocks.

Why during the Summer?  It was 1004 degrees in Portland today.

Don't you want to go when there are mushrooms?

I got mushrooms o' plenty here. I want to go to Oregon to see my pals and none of them is into hunting mushrooms as far as I know. Plus the Oregon Country Fair is in summer.
Then again, maybe I should ditch them and meet up with you guys for PNW mushroom hunting instead.

Well I certainly think so.

Not in Summer though, unless you want to check out high elevations for Boletus and Morchella, which are probably finishing fruiting about now in Oregon and Washington, I think.  It's been about a month since the end of Northern CA's season.

Multiple day hunting/camping trips are the shit....  But alas, this is not the Gathering Forum!

We'll discuss that another time at another place. It's something I definitely plan on doing.

Well, i have tried mushrooms 6 times, 5 indoors at night and once in the woods at night, indoors was better in some ways, outdoors was better in some ways (although probably more). But i've never tried them in the sun or even daytime so i don't know if i prefer it or not, i can imagine it being not as good, less visual somehow? but one of my friends really wants to try it so i guess we will... i am also 22 by the way.
