Drying Amanita muscaria

I have several very large specimens I would like to dry for later ingestion. My eyes are sore from reading what different sources have to say about drying techniques.

I am hoping to get some advice from someone w/ personal experience drying this specie or for definitive online links for drying techniques.

Ok the way i have done in the past is place the Amanita on to a tray and place in an oven at about 120C this is to convert the ibotanic acid into muscimol (sorry). And just leave til its dry ensuring any juices that go onto the tray go back onto the Amanita.
then you can simply injest. But at first just start out with small amount as the amount of chemicles in the Amanita can vary alot.

well me a my shroomerite friend when we go hunting we dry the in the fire which we set in the forest:-) if need to know how exactly ask me,PM me or anything

My cubes grow log (brf spawned poo) 6 years ago.

My outdoor grow log 6 years ago...

My pan cyans grow log from 2004!!

and ibotanic acid turns to muscimol not "muscari"

i have dried them personally in the oven (don't really know the temps) but i made sure the amber juices went back to the shrooms (easy procedure). i also believe hamurabi's way should work fine as well.
take care on this one and have a bowl around. don't forget to try to smoke amanitas with jane. just keep the bowl around, even when smoking. good luck!

get a cheap food dehydrator. make jerky, fruit and all kinds of stuff pretty cheap too. peace
