Longest Colonization Time.

What is the longest colonization time you have heard of on a PF jar? Where the jar may have stalled but actually ended up finishing.

Please specify weather you used 1/2 pint or 1 pint jars.

The reason I ask this is because of a bunch of 1 pint jars that have taken about 35 days so far for 90% colonization. Haven't budged in about a week. I don't think it ran out of moisture and it doesn't appear to be contams.

I think what happened is that the substrate was packed too tight at the bottom of the jars.

Anyways, I was just wondering this because I have heard of jars stalling and simply never finishing.

After 35 days of growth at 90% and a week or so of stalled growth one can begin to get a bit concerned.

What is the longest colonization time you have heard of on a PF jar?

My statistical assumption is that chemical tapering should begin when the rate of visiting ODD exceeds the rate of visiting Pub, or any other Shroomery forum.

I used to have jars stall. I then started to keep the lids loose and have since not had the problem. from what I understand, stalling occurs when there is a high CO2 concentration, or moisture buildup - but that should be more obvious.

Yeah I tried loosening the lid to get some gas exchange. I loosened the jars, loosened the cake, but it upside down, even elevated the jars so gas exchange could occur freely through the inoculation holes.

Still wont stop stalling. And the jars are surely not dry.

I don't know.... maybe its just really stubborn genetics?

About 2 months, half pint jars. I thought it was a stall, they were 40% colonized, but after a month they finally finished  Didn't have enough air and heat.

If the bottom of the jar is not colonizing then your substrate was too wet to begin with.  Water + gravity.
