Leonid meteors....anyone else catch 'em?

Went out for my annual "watching of the Leonids" lastnight. It was a work night so I slept til about midnight then drove out into the desert and caught the peak of the storm before I had to go to work at 5am.
It was a pretty good show. Lots of activity. At the peak we were counting 20-30 per minute consistently (with a full moon). But last year was better. Last year was an amazing storm! And they will get progressively worse from here on out. The comet Temple-Tuttle that creates the shower only passes through once every 33 years (or something like that). And we are on the end of the peak cycle right now. I'm just glad I have caught the show the last few years. No other meteor shower is so predictable and so active during the peak of its cycle. And we have been lucky enough to live through a couple of really good years of its peak.
So did anyone else get a good show this year? If you didn't take the time to view the Leonids over the last few years, well, theres always 30 years from now! Actually, they are there ever year in November, they have just been at there peak the last few years.

I tried. I got up and checked the whether in the mountains for where we were going to watch them, it said mostly clear. As we got near the place we realized it was going to be cloudy... It sucked a whole lot. Got up, drove 50 miles and it was cloudy. Luckly I caught it last year and it was incredible.

Saw them last year. Drove 80 miles out of town at midnight and snuck in a cornfield. We saw 1-3 a minute at the peak. Saw the trails of fire. It was neat. Missed out this year.

I went out for about an hour. It was nice, but as you said, last year was spectacular. I caught the perciads(sp) this year. It was decent.

I brought a comfy chair outside and watched through a haze of weed smoke, I only saw about 5, dissapointing, but calming.

Solid overcast for me .
But I did see them last year with a few friends. One of them is really into astronomy. He has a big home-made telescope he calls his "light bucket". He's sorta geeky but cute and he always reminds us about meteor showers and conjunctions and things.
