Fruits from first tub still aren't quite cracker dry. Second tub, I split the stipes of the largest fruits from the root halfway up. So they dried fastest and I pulled an ounce of biggies out already. Yes, total for both is going to be well over 3 ounces.
First tub, second flush came in. Four mushrooms, go figure. Good size though. So I moved it into the greenhouse, we'll see if there's a third flush lurking in there.

Wow, sorry this is late but that is ill as hell son. I live in the same area and tried a couple minitub methods but I wouldn't have thought to use a a shotgun-esque layout on one up here. Awesome results man, I might throw some TC's in a similiar setup soon

Exactly how many Trusted Cultivators are you planning on capturing and putting into your mini mono?

Hey Doc,
Do you put holes in the corners of your tubs and then plug them up somehow to facilitate dunking? It would work as a nice little drain.
How do you go about dunking mini-monos?

I do- but I just started recently. I mentioned it upthread, I think. Yeah, I fill it up with water, let it sit, then drain it. If you have something that fits inside the tub, you can hold it under. Or you can transfer to one of the half height tubs and dunk in that.

So just pop the substrate block out, place in a larger tub, and dunk for about 12-18 hours or so?

Exactly. Thy make a shorter version of the same tub that is the right height. No handling, you just flip it over into the short tub.

Well I got my holes drilled & my coir is cooling.
I don't have black bags so I taped the outside, I hope it works.
I did add drainage holes, Thanks Doc.
I got a question tho, Do I leave all the holes covered during colonization?

..shit forgot the drainage in one bin.. dammit I just cleaned them.

That tape will work just as well, I think.
Edit- I have a fourth row of holes at the top- did you put those in? Edit again - you drilled holes in the lids? Last edit - I have the same scissors!

I left out the top row because my house has central AC that is on almost constantly + I live near AZ & it's super dry here.
Yes I did the lid also.
& lol
p.s I plan on getting a cheap cool mist(walgreens brand for $20) for my closet were I'm gonna fruit these.

Nah, don't use the closet, leave them out. The FAE will be worth the extra misting. Or one out, one in.

How does this tub get its humidity? Is it placed in a larger chamber holding 90-95% RH or does it just feed off the moisture held by the coir and misting?

The latter; it generates its own humidity like a shotgun FC, it is out in room air. But you can put them in a greenhouse, too- the second tub in this thread started in room air then went in the gh.
Second tub, second flush came in: 6.4 oz harvest weight. So that's 25 wet ounces total, easily a record for me for a single tub. Yay me!
This one tried to escape:
Would have made it, too, if I hadn't come along.

Now I have put him in the right direction I will hopefull se his yeild atleast double.

Here's the 1894 version set up as a dubtub. Bottom half is built the same as the bottom of the minimono, and holds the same amount of substrate. You can put the lid on it for colonization, it's very space-efficient.

Dense, dry fruits- my humidifier is acting funny, I think there was lightning damage even through the surge suppressor. And it cleared my digital timer. But the mushrooms look fine despite all that, 22.3 ounces harvest weight.

No prints from this batch, sorry.

WOW ! What an amazing grow. Congrats Doc. All you tape vs bag ppl. You can obviously see that whatever Doc is doing he is doing it very well. So why don't you take the advice of someone who has done an amazing job on a tub. It is all just personal preference. And Doc's preference definetly brought some wicked results. I am not saying that you shouldn't try different things, its just that Doc's way is bringing spectacular results. Why would you fuck with that?
Anyways congrats again Doc. I look forward to making a tub like this and when I do I'll post some results. You can look at my tape too.

Sounds like it's time to buy a new surge protector! They do wear out over time.
And once again, awesome grow man, I love these little things.

@truskool: My two most recent, I went with bags. One has tape on it already, but the other is plain. We'll see what we see.
@radiantthought: Yeah, I guess I never really thought about it, but we do get a lot of lightning here, it must put a lot of stress on the suppressors. Definitely a point in favor of mechanical timers over digital- reprogramming this thing pretty much sucks. 20 on/off settings is nice and flexible, but it's tedious.
