Yes, it's upthread somewhere. I put the dates for spawning, intro to FC and 1st flush on tubs. But I only recorded it here.

doc: Spawned on 6/29, exposed to fruiting conditions 7/8, harvest on 7/22.
ok 10 days spawn and 2 weeks to fruit.
that makes me worry much less. mine was spawned 8-21 - 8-25 so 4 days untill it was put in fruit conditions. so 6 days too soon for fruit conditons. then its been 9 days from start of fruit conditions untill today (no pins...) thats 5 days early. so i could wait 11 more days for fruits before i get a little concerned.
thanks doc, sorry i missed the post earlier...

Pretty normal time frame for bulk tubs. For me at least. 10-14 days of spawn run, then 10-14 more days until harvest. Then 10-14 days between flushes.

for the record, the holes that doc made in his tub work perfectley in his climate. but for me, i had to close a lot of them up, then i went to polyfill in all of them. now i have a humidifier so hopefully i can get rid of the polyfill... i love my shrroms to death no doubt.
doc have you ever tried making this a true hybrid? shotguns are elevated off the ground and have holes in the bottom. possibley going with a posters idea above, and putting perlite on the bottom, with holes may effect the overall humidity. the only problem is there would have to be some sort of path for the air currents to take from the bottom to the top... straws? heh.
have you played around with this idea?

Putting perlite in the bottom of a bulk tub leads to crunchy bottom pins. But try any variant you think of, no telling what will work out.
As for climate- I live in a desert. It's dry here, and drier in my apartment. You need to mist once in a while, not plug up holes. Water is important, but FAE is more important to get a lot of great mushrooms.

i went through the whole post but i didn't see what ratio of the ccv did you use and did you use coffee grounds from a can or used coffee grounds and you pasteurize the cc and bake the verm and did you say you submerge it all under water like a dunk then drain it sorry if i miss read anything I'm ready to try this sounds like a great method

Half a brick of coir. I never used to pasteurize, but recently that's not working out as well as in the past. Dunk between flushes, any way you like.

That's fine. And any used coffee is ok- it doesn't matter.

Can someone recommend good substrate CCVG ratio for a mini mono, 3 quarts spawn in a 11" (W), 12.5" (L) tub? What percentage coir, coffee, verm and gypsum?
edit: nevermind, this thread helped: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/12046037#12046037

Hey Doc.. do you have holes at the very bottom? Do you cover that up with tape or leave it as is?

No air holes in the bottom part, that would lead to side pins. You can put in a drain hole if you are feeling fancy.

Since I'm using the recycled shotgun I have holes.. you suggest just putting duct tape all over the bottom then?

I would. Maybe leave one hole with a flap for drainage, but otherwise cover them. Or not- you can pop the whole block out and get the side and bottom fruits, once you harvest the top.

Hey, would you say the 1/4" holes every 2 inches would work for larger parameters?
In other words, utilizing the same idea except on a larger scale, a regular sized monotub.

Haven't tried it. I don't need that many mushrooms at once, and it's a lot of substrate. But I think it would work even better the bigger you go, just like a regular monotub of shotgun does.
