A band from Iceland.  Very very good music period, especially while tripping though.  They accompanied the peak of my first trip which incidently was while I was in a bathtub that I thought was on a train. (actually in a hotel room). But yeah, hard to describe, but very spacey and organic sounding.  Sorta like Mogwai who are great as well if you haven't heard them.

And live, wow, I started the concert really wishing I had a low dose in me, but yeah, it was so intense emotinally sober that I don't know if I would have made it influenced.  So, if you have the chance see them, and for sure give them a listen.
Fav Song: Staralflur (I think, stupid icelandic )

Not sure if you were referring to me or not... like I tried to say earlier, favorite song is probably Staralfur, though I enjoyed all of Svefn G Englar.  I've yet to really listen to the new CD, though the ones from it I saw in concert were great.  And I don't hate Icelandic, I'm just frustrated that I can't understand what they're saying.   This is often better for tripping though, I like music without words that I can understand, less of an influence on what I'm thinking. (doesn't put ideas in my head)

If im not mistaken no one but the band can understand what they are singing! They invented their own language. At least this is what my roommate tells me. He's really gotten into them lately and I must say I like what ive heard.

But Im fairly sure that they singing in an invented language. They call it "hopelandish" i believe.

True, it is made up stuff he calls Hopelandic, but yeah, most of it is based in Icelandic, and only a portion of the words are truly made up. You can find translations around if you look.

Yeah, there are words or 'sounds' they make up on their own.. But most of it is Icelandic and you can understand that easily enough; well I can since I'm Icelandic

My favorite song, hmmmm, tough choices...

I love Vi?rar vel til Loft?r?sar, Flugufrelsalinn, Star?lfur, and of course Svefn-G-Englar....

Check out the new album, its excellent
