How to measure milligrams without a scale?

SWIM has some nice DMT but doesn't have a scale.


How does one measure milligrams with a scale?

Umm, without a scale? That would be tough.  You could just eyeball it.....When I weigh out 50 mg, it's about the size of a BB. 
I don't think there is any way for you to accurately measure milligrams without a scale, just like you can't accurately measure water temperature without a thermometer.

Someone told me 50mg will be able the size to cover a dime...

Damn....

I need a scale...but idk if the scale I'm looking at is worth it.

Also...if you have 1 oz of something, that is like 53 grams right?

Since 1 oz is 1/16th of a pound. And a pound is 454 grams... Thats like 53.

so if you had around 1/1024th of an oz...would that be 443 mg?

lb is 448 grams

ounce is 28g.

maybe u should take some math classes :wink:

cant really say, but a bb sounds more right for 50mg.

search for cheap microgram scale, u can make one ez and will do justice. or u can buy digi skates that measures in the mg.

Alright so to be honest you can't really eyeball something when it comes to milligrams. The difference between 10 milligrams and 20 milligrams of a substance usually isnt much.

Scoops when you say 50mg is about the size of a BB are you talking about DMT or something else? This can be dangerous because different substances have different molecular weights and densities. so a milligram of cocaine would look different from a milligram of flour, DMT, 2C-D, anything really.

Secondly the substance itself usually isnt uniformly broken down, meaning that there are bigger clumps next to small clumps, even at a smaller scale. so two BB size piles might actually weigh pretty differently. It all depends on how compact that BB sized pile is.


So to answer your question. The only way i can think of is constructing your own scale of some sort using a coat hanger, two identical containers ( bag, tube, etc) and construct a scale. Know that one cc of water weighs one gram. You could use water, but its still such a small amount that it'll probably not be accurate.

i read somewhere that a square of aluminum foil that is 2.4mm on each side weighs about one milligram. so going back to the construct your own scale idea by using balance. You can approximate using aluminum.

Your right about the weight...I thought 2 oz.


I have an old chemistry set that comes with chemicals in 2 oz bottles.



I started freaking out thinking I only put 28 grams of NaOH instead of 56. hahah
