getting in touch with the inner artist
    #10708453 - 07/20/09 09:28 AM (14 years, 8 months ago)

As I get older, I find it harder and harder to use my imagination and visualize things.  When I was younger, I could imagine fascinating landscapes and unworldly dimensions. I had a good eye for the abstract. this was very important for expressing myself through drawing and even photography. It was second nature to me. Now that I am older, I find that it is a lot tougher to express my inner world. It is a little difficult to explain exactly what I am try to say....but its like my eye for abstraction is slowly shutting as I age. Does anyone else feel this way?

No.

What is the difference between your inner artist and your outer artist?

Nah, I just seem to be getting weirder as I get older.  But I find marijuana unleashes my creativity well.  And if you smoke regularly, take a break of 3-4 weeks and go back to it.  The initial re-psychedelization of your brain will give you some creative fodder to coast on for the next few months.

But I think in general as we get older, things like imagination and visualization are more difficult.  Especially in this mechanized culture with specialization of labor, where we each just do our one little task like bees in a hive.
