KayTee Basic? It'll work ok with the peanuts. But that or the corn or something makes it kinda gloppy. But it will colonize fine.

only thing ive had to take out are the sunflower seeds. they all tend to be the floaters after soaking...Which btw if you use this tek to the t i do not understand how your jars can get too moist inside from not straining enough.

the simmering of the grains is what really does most of the hydrating.
some ppl here have even been skipping the soak all together (based on some info that the endospore stories are bogus) and their grows have been turning out great.
So, in conclusion, soak if it works for you.

and yeah, remove the peanuts. better to be safe and clean then messy and sorry.

I had to use wbs with peanuts in it once. Used docs tek and they worked fine. Speedy colonization time as matter a fact.

I currently made 8 jars with WBS that had peanuts in it. I made sure to pressure cook them for 90 minutes @ 15 PSI and have had no contaminants or gloppy problems whatsoever. Hope that gives you some peace of mind.

I wish Doc34 was still around.  He did awesome coir trays, and was really helpful in some private messages I had with him.  AND he gave me my first print.  Maybe he'll come back someday. :zoom: ~Pixie~

This is the best seed I have ever found.  Almost no floaters, I don't bother picking em but with other brands I've had half the bag float.  Not with these.  They also come in 4 lb bags which is perfect for doing 7 quart jars, which is the full load on my PC.
There's the occasional odd corn kernel or half navy bean in there but no big deal.  I leave em in.  Oh and the price?  I think I remember it being about 1.50-1.75 or something like that at Evil China Mart.

I think hes saying that the soak has no effect on contam rates. Not that endospores dont exist

It is known that endospores DO indeed exist. No one would argue that.
I have read many stories of people not soaking, and still having great success.
I have done this myself with no problems.
My point is, I'm not fully convinced that soaking grains germinates endospores and thereby makes them easier to kill in the pc.
I am no college grad by any means and have only been into this for a couple years, so I have alot to learn.
If I am wrong about this fact, please point me in the right direction for greater knowledge.
