I wonder how that would hold up in court.
"I just built the machine Judge. It is completely harmless until a marble is rolled. The man who used it to kill himself has obviously lost his marbles. The machine killed him. Machines cannot think. I think. Therefore I am not a machine."

Well, in the realm of technicalities, I may be doing a service. Politically Correct it may be called a "Natural Selector"

Honestly, I think suicide should be tolerated I do not condone, or stand by it. It should be made out to be an Selfish-evil act filled with shame, ignorance, and ill-will. I prefer to cast Suicide in a bad light. It is not a good thing, but I can easily accept it as a fact of life. It should be legal.

It is what it is. If someone is in so much distress that they self terminate, I do not think down upon them. We all have our end. We all leave behind something. Its something most if not everyone THINKS about at least once. They just went through with it.

I think the act should be frowned upon. Not the person.

Why should suicide be frowned upon. Its a personal choice regarding ones physical state. Some cultures give honor to it, depending on method.

I tend to frown at selfish acts. They just smell really bad. Maybe my nose is just really sensitive?

Its not always selfish. Is not martyrdom not suicide? Sometimes its for a cause greater than the individual. Then its an act of honor.

Would I be considered selfish if I believe there is not a single cause worth taking my own life over? At the end of the day I WOULD rather die on my feet than live on my knees yet i prefer the middle road and am cofortable just sitting down.
While i believe there is Dignity and Honor concerning a context where death is possible but avoidable, there is none such in a context where it is a straight ticket underground. But then again, you can die skateboarding, but I wouldn't call it a suicide mission either.
in other words, it is admirable if one tried to sneak his way around a machine gun to kill the operator. You might die in the process but there was thought, reasoning, and room to live. It is totally shameful if you think you are helping out by running towards it. Suicide is throwing caution to the wind which is stupid, and stupidity should not be honored.
Although I cannot scientifically prove suicide can be honorable or dishonorable I will say I think the two should not be associated very often.

Views on suicide have been influenced by cultural views on existential themes such as religion, honor, and the meaning of life. The Abrahamic religions consider suicide an offense towards God due to religious belief in the sanctity of life. In the West it was often regarded as a serious crime. Japanese views on honor and religion led to seppuku, one of the most painful methods of suicide, to be respected as a means to atone for mistakes or failure, or as a form of protest during the samurai era. In the 20th century, suicide in the form of self-immolation has been used as a form of protest, and in the form of kamikaze and suicide bombing as a military or terrorist tactic. Sati is a Hindu funeral practice in which the widow would immolate herself on her husband's funeral pyre, either willingly, or under pressure from the family and in-laws.[4] WIKI

Self-sacrifice for others is not usually considered suicide, as the goal is not to kill oneself but to save another.
