Upside Down

When the jars for PF cakes are sealed the dry verm barrier is on top of the cake now when I birth my cakes and put them in the terrarium, does it matter if I put them upside down (verm barrier sitting on the jars covers)??? I read somwhere that it does matter, true or false?

No, this doesn't matter. Some people even put vermiculite on both sides of the cake, this gives better moisture to the top and bottom, just one step closer to casing. But the reason, IMHO, why people put them upside down is because of the shape it will be coming out of the jar. The mouth of the jar is a little wider making for a wider base and the bottom of the jar has a little curvature which sucks if your trying to stand it on that.

It doesn?t matter, the more "natural" way to birth them, without much handling, is the verm down.
