Thanks!
I'd hate to make a guess at the size of it. As stated with the first couple of pictures the sprinkler post in the center is 6 feet tall. That should give you a good idea.
Today's harvest. Yes I know the tomatoes are still green. We don't care for red tomatoes in most cases but we love fried green tomatoes.

I really love what you're doing there, it looks excellent.
Did you consider growing strawberries?

Hey, one more question: we're planning to make a herb grow counter in the kitchen too, and I was wondering about the light schedule you put yours on, along with other suggestions you think worthy of mentioning.

I'm thinking I may need more light as growth has been slow. Due to that, for the mean time I have the lights set for 20 hours on and 4 off. I really have no idea what is optimum if you have the correct amount of light. That's an area I learning in myself.
Being new at this too I have more to learn myself than knowledge to offer.
The mirrors are probably my single favorite add on. They really add to the overall appearance in depth and dimension. Those are just two cheap $6.00 door mirrors bought from the local dollar store. I imagine they may even be beneficial to the plants by spreading the light around to some of the would be otherwise darker areas.

Are the peppers still fruiting with 20/4 light regime, or they didn't even start flowering yet? I'm pretty sure that they need lesser hours of light do that they can start producing something... We grew some basil a while ago and after keeping it under the fluorescent for a moth or so, with receiving light for 24/7, we put it under the HPS on 12/12 and this is when it really started growing.

I'm not getting ant fruiting or flowering with the current light schedule. I'm only trying to keep them alive and growing vegetative wise until I get around to adding more powerful lighting. There are a couple of peppers on the pepper plants and flowers on the oregano but they came from when they where stored in the dark for a period before I added them to my little garden. I didn't start those from seed myself. Some of the plants I did and some I didn't.

I have all sorts of wildlife that visit my yard frequently. I've got a salt lick that attracts deer and other animals right into the yard. There are even panthers, bob cats and the occasional black bear most of which are rarely seen and don't cause problems. I've got a few cats outside and I end up feeding 3 times the food they eat to opossums that come right up on the porch every night to fill their bellies.

Oh OK. I thought you meant in or near my garden as in maybe you saw something in one of the pics that you thought was a salt lick. The salt lick is mostly gone now. It lasted about a year. It is a couple of hundred yards from my garden.
I'm surprised that I haven't had any animal problems in relation to my garden. They are welcome to some of it so long as that don't eat or damage the majority of it. I've got way too much of some items such as squash and radishes. We have been eating a lot of it, giving about as much away as we have been able to find people to take it and the freezer is filling up fast.
I've been really amazed at how much this little garden has been producing. It really didn't seem to me like I was planting that much. I actually thought I wasn't planting enough of most things but I see I was way off. It's looking as if much of it will end up getting plowed back into the soil at the end of the season. Everything that grows takes from the soil. No sense in not putting it back if I don't come up with something better to do with it.
If I was in a more populated area I would be running a vegetable stand. Next year I may have my boys do just that up on the highway or in town. I've got room to more than double my garden. I had already planned to do so but to also double the variety more so than the quantity. I want to grow grapes and hops for wine and beer making. That takes up a good deal of room.
It's a shame the neighbor's kid stole my motion sensing wildlife camera. Then again not really as it's a film type rather than digital. I wouldn't want to pay to process all of that film. I'm going to have to look into a digital one. I could get some pretty cool pics to post.

True enough. I grew up surrounded by tobacco fields and played in pesticide spray clouds as a kid. My father was heavily exposed to agent orange in Vietnam and that stuff does damage for generations. No need for me to avoid the chems at this point.

Jimson weed taken earlier this week. It has grown twice the size since and has many more flowers all of which will become walnut sized capsules that are covered with thick but sharp spikes. Really cool plant imo. Most plants are though.

I have not been doing anything with my indoor kitchen counter garden lately. It's doing OK but could use a little work. Here is one of it's ripe but very small habanero peppers. I guess it qualifies as miniature. So does the other one on the other plant. I can't wait to taste one. The only reason I haven't yet is I hate to take the brightest colors out of my little setup. That will only leave brown, white, green, and a little yellow for color. I've got plenty for eating on my outside plants. Something about these little indoor miniature, bright colored, shiny, pungent smelling peppers though makes me really want to eat one. I'm going to give in soon.
Damn I'm high.
