Nope. Project: Fac Periclitatur is much more riskay then the WBS bag. I even have my doubts about this project.

do it but only do it on a few jars. i want to see if it will fruit. even if its just one of your bottles to try it.

I don't have any WBS but I have a bunch of colonised oat jars. I'll just put a bit less spawn in one of my monos and slurry enough oat spawn to inoculate a small cvg tray. I also have a few oat flour cakes. I plan on slurrying at least one of them to inoculate some grain jars.

I'm looking to do this but have a couple questions. Is there a tek for the WBS bag an can I use mycelium fully colonized on WBS to blend?

yeah sorry what i mean, is trying to do a slurry with whole grain. doesn't matter what type of grain. im wondering if the slurry will colonize fast enough that the exposed grain won't matter. nice sounds like a good experiment.

Just go look at Blackdust's experiments. Slurried a 70 percent cake to unsterilized WBS bag. Roots sprouted and everything, fully colonized within 5 days.

he used a 70% colonized pf cake to slurry to unsterilized wbs bag. what we are talking about is using colonized wbs for the slurry itself rather than a pf cake.

i agree. once you have growing down push the limits. thats how you discover new things. i love that hes just giving it a go. now, ive seen people over the years attempt no pc experiments with good results. in fact, ive seen a guy do an antibacterial grain soak, no pressure cooker but just boiled the quart jars of grain. and actually had good grows off it without contamination. but im excited about his experiments for sure! ive never seen anyone try brf unsterilized without a trich factory. but they weren't using liquid slurry either. that stuff is amazingly fast. there will always be backlash until you prove that it does work. even if you fail, at least you tried. if you can recreate the results over and over then its a success. now, not really a suggestion for newbies but for those who have plenty to work with just for the sake of experiment. things get outdated, new things come forward. if it does work, ill give it a shot. why not. if minimizing the use of your pressure cooker works, id say its a success if it gets you the same end results repeatedly. im still wary of the sprouted non sterilized grain tubs. but lets wait and see. this would be something helpful for those who don't have a pressure cooker or are not able to use one due to life situations.
not to mention that blackdust is using clean technique but hes not sterilizing anything. although, i think that using boiled water to clean the blender is sterilizing it.

I like that BD is trying different things but I don't like the way she is advocating it so hard all over the boards before she has seen results. I just don't wan a bunch of newbs starting out this way without ever learning the basics.
I have 6 qts of B+ clone spawn I was going to use for a mono today. I'm going to just put 5.5 qts in the mono and use the remaining half qt to slurry to a tray of CVG. This culture is a fast coloniser. The last 2 dub tubs I spawned with it are at 100% after only 5 days. So I think it might work out.
