to a degree i do when its bulk subs. i can see a big difference in 2 quarts compared to 4 or 5 quarts of spawn. but after 5 quarts. i don't see much difference.

im usually around 4 quarts myself. but just did 2 tubs with 3 quarts each due to some hidden contams in one grain jar.
this is good though. the tub with 3 quarts of spawn can be compared to the slurry tub. as this is the first spawning ive done in these new tubs. the sub volume is the same in both tubs. but the difference is one i slurried and the other was spawned with 3 quarts of spawn. so this is a great comparison. same strain as well. same methods to a t minus the spawning method.

yeah it was a really old cake probably a year or so lol...
the pins are maturing. they look a little small to me. so im thinking it might be a smaller flush. probably be mature by tomorrow.

ive got some people at topia trying this out now. having good success using pan mycelia. also one other is trying it out with cube mycelia and so far hes having good luck after 2 days. about on par with what im seeing here.
can't wait till the other guy gets up the pics of the pan mycelia. he said after 2 days it looks really good! just used the same methods i listed above. 1 pint water to 1 pf cake of pan mycelia. he asked about h202 but told him it wasn't necessary.

here is some updates.
screwed up the strain. this is a 3rd generation 2nd flush clone off year old tasmanian material. so its really old. and stretched out. but it still worked!
either way, its fruiting now. had some things come up so the tubs had to be moved and the light was much further away. thats why everything is at an angle lol...
also guy at topia did this with pan mycelia and colonized a tray in a few days. less substrate and about the same amount of slurry. gonna test some slurry runs with fresh material soon.

yeah later tonight. just waiting on these hd's to finish copying. i had to take the bin out of the light and fan for the last 3 days. so the fruits started growing out of control. but there are many fruits that are hitting hte lids. most of em were growing sideways. doh...skinny but for a 3rd generation clone off a 2nd flush of some more than 1 year old material. im impressed. and one pf cake of spawn. pics up later tonight.

well the bin had to be neglected. the yield is a little lower. most likely 4 z dry. filled the dehydrator once so that usually equates to 4. just by eye for now.
some of these fruits were about 15" long and tall. some pics to let you get an idea of the size. for one pf cake. thats awesome! they weren't as bulky as usually. much skinnier stems but they were even more dense than the coffee substrate i tried. using only 1 pf cake compared to 4 quarts of wbs spawn.

very nice work :-)
i actually thought of doing something like this a while back but instead of using it for bulk, load it up in a big water gun and go around inoculating some peices of land outside :-) lol
I suggested it to a friend when liberty cap season comes. Make a slurry and start new patches.
I have a blender ;-) may give this a try soon with hpoo/coffe/verm/gyspum

veda, it works with pan mycelia as well. a guy just did a slurry and cased his tray. but he did the volume of 1 pint slurry to 1 black plastic seedling flat tray volume of substrate. whatever that is. his sub colonized in 3 days.
originally i did a very high volume of substrate. id probably lower it next few trials to a more adequate volume.
the amazon tub i have coming is slightly lower sub volume than the tas. the overall goal is to colonize the substrate in 3 days like the jars. so finding the perfect volume of substrate to slurry ratio is what we are looking for.
im gonna take a guess and say its less than 2 turkey tins volume of substrate. maybe 1.5 to get really speedy growth.
so far in 2 trials. i have 6 day spawn runs with around 2 turkey tins volume of subs.

I think you might run into the problem of having too many pf tek jars inoculated to make 1 slurry when you could just do 1 and make a slurry to inoc several WBS jars. Which is what the original tek is. Ill still be watching

If you're used to the effort of inoculating pf jars and don't have a pc yet to move on to grains, this is pretty revolutionary.
