i was just wondering  if using something like  toasted oats for a substrate would work after all the forum is about cultivation ways  and that would be something very interesting if it did work now wouldn't it

I think oats are mostly fat. You want carbs.

I'm wrong. It's mostly carbs. It would work. Don't know how it would perform but it would work!

How are you going to bring toasted oats up to "Field Capacity" without them turning into sludge?  I've never even thought about it, but I'm trying to picture it.  Using it as a grain alone doesn't seem doable.  I can "Imagine" it ground up and used as a substitue for BRF in the PF Tek.  I don't know how well it would hold up with the amount of moisture required as a grain used as spawn.  Am I the only one thinking like this?
