Are these cakes no good? pictures
    #10621150 - 07/04/09 01:48 PM (15 years, 6 months ago)

HI, been following this forum for some time. just dunked my first cakes and put them into the fruiting chamber. been almost 24 hrs. Heavy bluing, which i guess is normal. Was unable to find any vermiculite to roll, and when I birthed the cakes they all had little shrooms on them which have seem to turn more dark since fruiting. I did the poor mans pod with two large airstones and sealed the top. first timer, thought maybe someone could shed some light on these pics.

your cakes look like they got thrown into a washing machine. but they will be just fine. you are going to need more fresh air exchange..even with the airstones.
drill many holes in all sides of your fc to make a shotgun.

ps- that typically happens to the mushrooms after the dunk. they probably wont recover though..but you will see more pins gradually.

no no no. your cakes will flush the normal amount of times..
i am strictly speaking of the pins/mushrooms that were growing on your cakes before you dunked. (they are all blue and aborted looking)
those mushrooms probably wont mature..thats all i am saying.
but this isnt anything to worry about.

you can leave them to see if they grow at all..but they will probably just end up rotting soon so go ahead and pick them and wait for new ones.
