Yes of course mycelium loves electrolytes. Just kidding you should dunk your cakes in tap water the purpose of the dunk is to hydrate your cakes not to add nutrients.

This is interesting though, would mycelium benefit from additional nutrients added with water in the dunking phase, or does BRF provide everything needed?

Brf does provide everything, it has an extremely high biological efficiency that far surpasses manure or other bulk substrate (which is why a brf cake beats coir cakes and the like).
The nutrients on the outside will not make it into the cake, it will only promote contams.

You can hydrate the brf mix with half strength coffee instead of water before sterilizing in a pressure cooker, but do not attempt a nutrient dunk on a cake or other substrate, it will only lead to contams.

You can dunk your cake in anything you want. Just do it. You'll probably have an slimy greeny septic looking mess in a day or so or you may have awesome superstrength mushrooms with gatoraid power. You never know until you try.

"Gatorade" was originally developed to help rehydrate the University of Florida (Gators) football players during practice in the brutal Florida heat. Be glad that it wasn't developed at Florida State University, it would have been called "Seminole Fluid".

This kind of thing has been asked for years and years. Genraly during fruiting stages you cant really add more food. Certianly not liquid anyway, as there not plants, they dont absorub nuitrients. Dunking in a nuitrient rich solution would coat the cake in food that would give moulds and bacteria plenty to get a hold and grow.
Stick with water, you want to rehydrate your substrate to support the next flush.
Substrates usually have more than enough food to to put out plenty in the first few flushes after which the myc starts getting ol and week.
concenstrate on getting most from the first few flushes then replce with fresh substrate. You should get 80% of whats availible anyway

Read a book, dopey... He was perfectly 'normal' in the beginning of his scientific career (Almost as soon as he arrived at Cambridge, he started developing symptoms of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (known colloquially in the USA as Lou Gehrig's disease), a type of motor neurone diseases which would cost him almost all neuromuscular control).
Sorry to sound harsh, but c'mon.
And to all, just dunk in water. I've never seen people so eager to fuck up their work. Experimenting is cool, but I'm not going to shit on my cakes to see if it helps.

Has anyone ever tried experimenting with nutrient rich water solutions? Like, something you could use to dunk cakes or rehydrate substrates? If you knew what to put in the water, it would probably work somewhat.
Someone get on this!
