Mono tub/shotgun VS Martha/Green House
    #10617558 - 07/03/09 07:32 PM (15 years, 6 months ago)

I was wondering what peoples thoughts were on these styles of FC. Whats the pros and cons of both setups. I have looked at a few posts on this but have found no side by side grows to go over.

Also the post were from a while back things may be better now for either one.

I will say that the money is not a factor and the stealth is not a problem either. I am just looking for peoples opinions to help me out i am kinda stuck between the two.

Thanks for looking

It all depends on your needs as a grower. Do you want to grow huge amounts of mushrooms? Then don't go for one tub or shotgun, go for more than one or build a Green house.

Well to be honest i would like to see yields around a lb at a time. I need to learn allot to achieve the stander ed i will have on myself. I would say Green house for what i want but not opposed to having 6 tubs either just want to use the best set up.

IMHO go for a shotgun then. Have you seen Roger's videos?

Consider monotubs too.

By 'a pound', you mean wet, right? Because if you are talking about dry weight, that's a whole different level of cultivation.

Yea i used a shotgun the last time with cakes and i wasn't happy with it. It worked but the yields were not what i was expecting. I am new to this with only 2 grows but both were successful so i know with allot of reading i can can get things down to a science. I just want to get some cooking while i read and gain knowledge. I am a self taught  green thumb and a ya dam good one so i know i can perfect this hobby. Its just the last go around i was really busy with other stuff and did not take the time to learn myco like i should of.

I know with the FC i only want top go one route and not start over. So once i decide tubs or GH that's what i decide and with never using a GH and tubs twice for that matter i need opinions of people that have.

Dry weight

I don't expect this to happen over night i know it will take time to achieve that level. that's why i want to figure out what would be best for me. I read about people yielding 9 zips out of tubs so i don't think that a p is expecting that much. Again i am not expecting to yield that on my 3rd try.
