Serious allergy related question about vermiculite

I recently bought two bags of vermiculite. The side of the bags, near the top opening, had holes in them and a small amount of vermiculite fell on my arm. When this happened my arm got a little itchy. I do have really minor echzema.
If I grow my mushrooms with vermiculite and I have some sort of allergy to the vermiculite and I eat those mushrooms will I get an allergic reaction?

It basically a form of puffed mica- a mineral. It might irritate your skin, but I don't believe you could have a true allergic reaction to it. Wear gloves if it bothers you.

I'm wondering because I figure the mushrooms will be absorbing something from the vermiculite and when I eat them whatever it was that was in the verm that was making me itch will be inside the mushroom when I eat it.

It's completely possible to be allergic to shrooms, even if you aren't allergic to regular mushrooms. If you are the kind of person who has serious allergies, this may not be the right hobby for you. There's mold too. And shroom spores. Lots and lots of stuff.

I have eaten shrooms before. I'm not talking about the mushrooms themselves, I'm talking about the vermiculite.

They won't absorb anything from the verm to give you an allergy. You probably have sensitive skin and the verm scratched it a little, just like when we handle fiberglass insulation. As said, verm is mineral. RR
