    #10609346 - 07/02/09 11:47 AM (15 years, 6 months ago)

so i inculated 3 pound rye grow bags from sporeworks with 3 cc of burma from sporeworks.

its been 14 days no signs of mycelium... so i got a little bored and moved around to rye to see if there was any mycelium forming from the inside out.. and its mad stringy almost like sticky sperm.. iv'e never seen anything like this.. but i need to if those are early signs of formation?

mad stingy and sticky ?  What color?

14 days without any sign of colonization is getting to the outside of the window .....

If your stringy, sticky growth is not white, I would say you have a bacterial infestation.

Color?  or color photos?

bringthepain: It sounds to me like when you inoculated, you did so into the middle of the bag rather than against the sides. This starts the mycelium growing from the center so it's a lot harder to see and judge growth. The 'sperm' you are seeing is probably mycelial tissue: it's white, sometimes a bit gooey and usually stringy. Pictures would help but it sounds to me like it's going fine unless that stuff isn't white.

Some good pictures of mycelial growth can be found here:

nah i really injected toward the side.. but a got like 15-30 grains starting to clump together so maybe.... just maybe something is gonna happen...

at this rate by next year....lol

oopsy i forgot..i made lc with the burma..and it did its thing in a normal time period as usual...lc is better to use in bags so ima just re inculate it after another week.. with the lc
