Trying to save some money
    #10611565 - 07/02/09 06:57 PM (15 years, 6 months ago)

So im trying to be a cheap as possible as i am under a budget, as most people. Anyways i was wondering since i really dont want to order anything else online. Could i just use this tek http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/562556#Post562556. ;
i just need the bags to spawn my sub to bulk. After they are 100% colonized i will be putting in a fc. i would use tape instead of pollyfill probably though.

craigslist is your friend....also go to yard sales. You'd be surprised what you'll find for next to nothing.

i guess i could just use trays. when you cover the bulk tray with foil do you need to put tape over the holes on the foil?

No but when it is finished colonizing then make sure it gets lots of FAE. Make a monotub man, thats perfect for your situation. Use your search bar and find ohmatic's tek. its fabulous.

I think after i bu the tub i will use some perlite and a quart jar to see how many quarts would be perfect for that tub. Sound like a winner?

Yeah. you don't need the perlite but I use it sometimes and it does improve flushing. Beautiful thing about tubs is you can use any size you want. So find one of a size that you think will make a solid spawn ratio, and 1:3 is great. Good luck man, monos are great, I have three mini's going right now.

hmm. Not sure. you can do the mtah with the weight of the brick, or just eyeball it. I usually just eyeball it and t works, however I use dung, not coir.

Ya i mean the brick will be dif when added to water and im sure they dont all come in the same size. guess i could just mix all that up and measure out what i need. sounds like a reasonable thing to do.

If you have an extra jar use that for measurment. When you wet the coir it will expand greatly. Expand, pasturize, and use a spare jar of the same size to get the proper measurement
