I was wondering what the most common molds are that one will likely encounter, and if people were finding that some strains become more infected that others.
What do the experienced growers encounter most, green mold, black pin mold?

"Green" is a pretty dumb name for a mold, there are several green molds.
Trichoderma, the Forest Green Mold is quite common and is harmless to humans.
Penicillum and Aspergillus are both a lighter green colour and completely indistinguishable without a microscope, which is a shame because penicillum is harmless but several strains of aspergillus are very harmful to humans.

All strains of cubensis would get contaminated equally, the strain makes no difference really..

How did you determine that it was infected, other than the color, as that sounds like something that falls within the range of acceptable color variation.....did it smell?

I get black pin mold (Rhizopus) a lot. Never was a problem for me till my damn appartment flooded, but now its everywhere.

Yeah, I got hit with green mold in one jar the other day, actually one in which I'd altered the PF Tek ratio just to see what would happen (more brown rice flour/less verm)...looked fine in the morning, but contaminated when I came home that night.

i used to get A. niger all the time, it's everywhere in both Arizona (i could never understand how it thrived so well there) northern California.
pluss, of course, the occasional cobweb and various bacteria, not verry offten at all though.
