Agar advice

I'm just starting to mess around with agar. I made MDA, poured a bunch of dishes and inoculated with a MS cube. Does everything look ok? If so, when should I start transferring and is there anywhere on the dish that looks promising? Thanks for your help!

Not ideal to be honest but looks pretty clean and contam free.
Did you inoculate so the spore were spread over the entire surface?
Transfers should have been done long ago before it goes 100%, well i do.
If you have loads of plates you could isolate from what you got but it would be easier and less hassle to make a new plate and drop one drop of MS suspension in the centre of each sector, grow and youll see the vigorous strains which woul be best for isolation.

It was my first try with agar, so it's pretty sloppy. I tried to keep the spores in the center, but I shot out too much liquid. Are there any parts that I should aim for when transferring? Thanks for the feedback.

vinnyvapor,
Those plates look god to me. If I were u, I would make aother set of plates and do some transfers from thst plate. Most notably the primordia shaped mass in the edge of the right hand third.

aim for the most rhizomorphic myc.
you have a goodish plate to cut from left sector towards the top looks good from the pic.
dont worry i shot out 2ml into 1 plate one, messy but rescued it still. stick with agar its the bomb!

If you are trying to get an isolate start transfering when there is grow about 1/2". Otherwise they look OK. CH

On second look, is that primordia forming or is it something else?
BTW, the best fruiting grower appreciative flushes are not necessarily from rhizomorphic mycelia.

I didn't enlarge it all the way untill now either, some thing looks a little off but it could just be it's over grown. I would do ten or 12 transfers from the sections you noticed the best and fastest grown. Then pick the plates that look the best and transfer again, from there it's up to you how far you want to isolate. GL, CH

I'm not really sure where I should be looking, so I have circled some likely candidates.

The black circle doesn't look that good to me.
The Yellow is OK
Red so-so
Blue OK
Green OK
Two spot I would do are between the black and green, and the spots between the green and Blue.
