Are pint jars okay?

Hello again fellow growers and mycologist alike. I am about to start my second batch of twelve today but all I have left is pint wide mouth jars for my BRF substrate. My question is will they work instead of using half pints...Im guessing it will probably just take longer to fully colonize but once they do it will be a nice size cake. Ive never had a prob with contam or with half pints...so Im hoping i will be okay with the pints ...regardless of how long they take to fully colonize.
Heres a pick of my other ones I have going in pint jars and they are just going nuts with mycellium growth so lets hope...let me know what you guys think ...thanks again.

Take foil off, make sure holes are open... if you have a layer of dry verm, it will help speed things up.

Yeah I still got the foil on...im gonna uncover for a day or two and see if it speeds up the growth a little...I notice today they are still growing just not at the rate they were so i dunno lets see what happens.

Pint jars aren't recommended for PF Tek, and this is why. They are slower to colonize. It's always a race between the mycelium and contams- and using half pints gives the best odds to the myc. So it might or might not for a given person, but it's not for everybody.
