Press N Seal instead of Aluminum Foil

Has anyone ever tried using glad's press and seal stuff instead of aluminum foil to seal their jars full of substrate to colonize? Seems like it would seal a lot better than foil

lol that probably wont work, the foils only their to keep the water that drips from the top of the pressure cooker out of your jars. If you used \press n seal, it would probably blow it off with the escaping pressure from the jars

I wouldn't trust either as a standalone method to seal up jars. Double-layered Tyvek is what I use in place of a jar lid. I'm not sure if the Press n' Seal will stand up to a pressure cooker anyway - and if it did, the adhesive probably wouldn't.
I use Press n' Seal to cover bulk tubs while they're colonizing. Have had better results with it than foil.

Remember you don't want to seal your jars during the colonization period.

Ya I guess you guys are right. Seems like it would work for a tub method but jars I'm gonna go with tyvek or tinfoil. Thank you all for your advise!

Go tyvek trust me so, so good.
Using tyvek my jars just reached full colonization, ms spore syringe, in a little over a week.
I shook up the wbs less than 2 days ago because it had reached 20%, its fully colonized now. and it is definitely mycelium not mold. I have never had a contam with tyvek, even without a glovebox and etc.
