Questions about making a spore LC?

I was going to try to take a quart jar with sterilized LC H20 (13g sugar in the raw to 600 ml distilled H20), Having a pre-drilled 1/2 inch hole in the top with polyfill. After sterilization, have a mature, spore producing cap ready to cut. Removing the tin foil, then tyvek, then polyfil from the hole. Cuting of the mature cap that is slightly bigger than 1/2 inch and placing it over the hole and placing a small jar upside down over the cap on top of the LC jar. And let the whole print be put in to knock up my LC. Has any one tried this before? It seems that it would work and is cutting out the part of making a syringe. After it could be covered with electrical tape or a band-aid or such. I do also have another 1/4 inch whole stuffed with polyfill for a vent.
Any opinions are welcome.

I think it'd be way easier if you were to take that spore print, knock up a jar, and then colonize a jar with that. Then, get a sterilized jar of water and a syringe. Take the water from the first bottle and inject it into the colonized jar until the substrate is completely submerged. Shake around the colonized jar, then suck the water back up and into the first jar. You'd have myc water.. from here you could do pretty much anything with it. There's a tek on it somewhere if you want a better explanation.

It'll work if you're sterile enough. but that's the key?

Sterile as always is all right? It seems to me it cuts out air exposer to the print it self which has the highest surface area available for contam....
thanks!

You said sugar? That's not going to work. And I agree w/ Devii about starting your LC with Grain LC instead of starting it from spores- much more likely to work properly.

Doc I agree here
River77, LC is touchy. It is VERY easy to contaminate it. You can do a water LC from grain or you can make a spore print, then a syringe, and inject it.

Why won't sugar in the raw work? I swear I have seen a post saying you even use such product for LC. I do use grain LC to start other LC and knock up jars. I have never even gotten spore to germinate in a LC before so its more just something I want to accomplish and am toying around with than actually need to or will actually use. I like to play!!!!!!
