Well, it took 'em a while! But now, two weeks after inoculation (my room's a little cold), the first bit of mycelium is starting form in the berries! Huzzah! I was getting a little worried, this being my first grow. "Did I shake the vial enough? Did I sterilize the right way? Should I sterilize with a flame when I have alco-pads? Should I flame before or after? Did I use enough? Fuck, no.. Did I use too much? Why is the bag puffing up? Oh god, is it infected? is the injectionport closing up?"
That kind of stuff.

I thought it looked like all was going well, but I think I've discovered a small patch of greenish mold.. Fuck. I'll try and post a picture later, but right now it looks fucked.. I'm thinking the white mycelium never was the right stuff in the first place, being a contam all along.

Hi, so I started a grow back in early December, but just in the last couple weeks have seen any growth (I stopped checking on them when nothing happened after six weeks, just happened to need to move them and saw this). These are examples off best, middling, and worst in my jars. Out of my 10 none have seen contamination, but there is zero growth in 4, and in the central jar I posted the little knots of fungus seem to be growing red? I'm wondering if I need to add more liquid, or what needs to happen to finish these jars?

I couldn't like, sterilize a water syringe and inject some and apply a new seal?

You could but then you would be just putting yourself even further set back from finally getting something for your effort

OK, I might try it with the ones that haven't started and see if that does anything. Leave the rest.

Well... The bag I posted 3 months ago? It got infected with green yuck. I didn't throw it out just yet, out of curiosity.
Believe it or not, but it's growing stones. There 'sclerotia piss' in the bottom of the bag. I'm not sure if it's to be trusted, and I couldn't believe it myself at first, but there are definitely stones and definitely parts that are very much colonized by the right mycelium.
Whether I should actually eat them is another matter entirely.

contams/molds dont transfer into the myc network or into fruitbodies so I wouldnt think they get into sclerocia either, bacteria will die off if you dehydrate them or rinse them off after harvest very very well if you dont like rock hard stones.
