Going to a festival alone?

Well, I should have seen this coming, as it happens rather frequently; but all but one of my friends that were going to Gratefulfest 10 at Nelson Ledges are not going. All for various reasons and stuff, some good reasons, some pretty shitty, but oh well.
I think one friend is still going, but only for one or two days, while I'll be there Thursday night-Monday night.
I guess I'm wondering how the festival experience will be alone, I still fully plan on going and thoroughly enjoying myself, I've got endless amounts of mush (that was supposed to be for the group...). I wonder if I should try to walk up to peoples' campsites and just try to make friends or just hang at my own, and see if people stop by.
I think it will still be fun, lots of music, lots of people, lots of general awesomeness.
Well, I'd sure appreciate any input, and I hope I'll still have a blast there!

sometimes a big crowd of friends can hold you back. however its safer to be with at least one other person and course there is this:

Find a campsite that you really like, or get along with, or have a keg. I find that if you have mushies, you have friends.
Good Luck and Enjoy!!!

as long as you're in a safe surround area i don't see as to why you can't go alone as apposed to a buddy along side

Well thanks chaps! I guess I'll just mosey around and look for some fun people to hang with for the weekend, and share my goodies, of course.

Find some neighbors that are down; set up near them. Often times there will be some sort of neighborhood community chill scene. People just hang out where there is a party going on near where they are camped. Traveling by yourself opens up time to find some hot festy women to get down with...

I plan on going to Woodstock 09 by myself. All of my friends flaked like I knew they would. I mostly like to be to myself and listen to music when Im all psyched up, so it should be good. I think the initial awkwardness would clear up around the time the drugs hit my system...

Has Woodstock been finalized? I couldn't find anything concrete? I hope its at Yasgur's farm not the Woodstock museum venue.

Nothing is final, but Im SUPER hoping it still goes down. I may go up just to see the fields and memorials and all that jazz. Just the lineup ive seen tentatively is AMAZING.
It is the 40th year, you know.

I saw that... Have you ever been to one of the events at Yasgur's farm? Its too bad that Bethel gave them such a hard time about it... Once the town knew that the museum was getting built they got all sorts of injunctions to ban the Yasgurs farm events.
Last time I was at the farm in'05 they made us take down our tents in the morning because LEOs were doing helicopter flyovers, and if tents were up the were giving the promoters mad fines. The next year '06 we got there only to be turned around by police at the gate... they were sending people to skinners falls, a couple bands played there, but it wasn't Woodstock.
