Need tips on stalling jars. Help Please.

What are the main reasons for jars stalling? Please read I need help.
My procedure in detail.
I use wide mouth ball jars with ONE small hole for inoculating.
I simmer the rye for an hour and drain for an hour.
Fill the jar half way and PC for an hour with foil on top.
After I inoculate them I putt the foil back on and place in my incubator at 86-90f. (I leave the foil on the entire time if that matters)
After a week things look pretty good but not as good as the pics I see on here all the time.
After about 2 weeks, the jars that didn't finish seem to have clumps of stalled mycelium balls and it no longer seems to want to spread around.
I need a total make over, I need better results.
Thanks guys I love you. <3

There are lots of factors that may contribute to slow colonization. One thing that sticks out to me is that 86°-90° seems very warm for incubation. Although the preferred temp for cubes is around 86°F, the mycelium itself generates heat, which could push it into the red zone if the air temp is already at that. Try lowering your incubation to around 80°F. You may have too much or too little moisture in your substrate.. that would also slow it down. Genetics could be against you in this one as well. If you really want a fast colonizer, you'll probably have to isolate a nice rhizomorphic strain through agar.

Drop your incubation temps down 10F and crack the lids loose a bit leave the foil on and you should see renewed growth within two days. GL

Also I pressure cook the jars with the rubber side down.... So lossening my jars would mean I would have to peel back the lid as well that sounds risky?

Probably more so than if you were to PC them with the rubber side up. I accidentally put a jar in there with the rubber side down once and it took me 15 minutes to get the lid off.. lol. I had to pry it off with a screw driver.. it didn't contam though. Your best bet would be to get a lid that allows you to inoculate without having to remove it, but if you can't, then PC with the rubber side up.. it makes things a lot easier.

These are Penis Envy I know these should be one of the fastest altough I think ecudor is the fastest colinizer I have seen so far and I have done :
PES Hawaiian, Chitwan, Z, PF Clasic Penis Ecudor B+

now repeat those grows thousands of times and see if they really are "fast colinisers" "contam resistant" "high potency"
I ignore names of strains which is usually no more than the area it was found, or a renamed regular cube with a fancy name.
Keep your jars at room temp.

That's where I call this bluff.
PES Hawaiian - Was always am zing trip.
Chit wan- Nothing great.
B+ - I spit in its face. You have to eat SO many.
Penis - very strong trip with very little to eat.
Those who say its just a name are wrong.
They are all similar but they do have differences for instance _ colonizing times, fruit sizes, potency by weight... ext.....
The names help identify unique trait quality's some growers may desire.

You're both wrong.
There are differences between strains, but strains are not spores.

Strains are living, dikaryotic mycelial tissue. Every time the myc from one spore successfully mates with another, it creates a unique strain.
The differences between brand name cubes, sold by vendors, are also apparent... but these cubes aren't really strains, they are VARIETIES of cubes (which have all been domesticated to a degree from wild cube prints). Spores from a specific variety of cube will likely produce fruits that look, grow and feel much like the shroom which produced the spores they came from, but this is not always the case.
Sometimes multiple grows from the same spore print provide VASTLY different results.
BUT, if you isolate a strain on agar, the results will be MUCH more consistent (if not identical) from one grow to the next.
As for potency,
Almost everybody here believes one variety of cube is more or less potent than another... but they rarely agree on which is best. There is little to no legitimate research that supports these claims anyway.

sounds like you have plenty of experience at growing, so im going to start with the assumption that you know what your doing, and that the basic flaw dose not relate to your tek. that automatically eliminates like 90% of all my ideas. leaving me with just two left. first is maybe that strain just dose not like you, or your set up. i can grow the shit out of some strains, but cant get others to even start. now that i think about it my 2nd idea was stupid, so ill keep it to myself. have you has any other changes in your set up??

I think it was my incubator. I upgraded its sized and heating power a little too much.
I was using a small heater in water temp stayed around 80 to 85 now its at 86 at night and 91 during the day. I was not aware that could slow it down to a stall.
I think i will need a few days to confirm this but im pretty sure its a nail on the head.
I have grown many types but never with subs and mono tubs. I feel like a noob all over again.
Wish me luck. Until I see the little guys I will be stressing it daily. They are in the mono tub right now In a week of darkness and I can't peek to see if its going alright.

As far as strains there are many distinctive cubie strains each when germinated produce what I call sub-strains each have their distinct characteristics. And Sulli drop those temps ASAP and crack the lids a just bit too. GL
