this has got to be in the top five most 'wtf' questions i've ever heard a n00b ask.
coffe is for upping nitrogen content of a nitrogen-deficient substrate, like coir.

Spent coffee grinds are an excellent substrate additive for many species, cubensis included.  Basic substrate requirements are not strain related for P cubensis.  What benefits one, is good for them all.
