I've played through Fallout 3 with about 5 different characters. I don't even wanna know how much time I have spent playing that game.

That's not what it was sposed to be. It was a fallout game that happened to use the Oblivion engine.

I loveeee Fallout 3 I spent so much time on that game making all different types of characters and trying the good and evil sides of things.
I was bigger into Oblivion and even more so Morrowind as I think Morrowind was the biggest game out of all of them content-wise. Soooo much in that game to do it was endless.
Can't was for ES:V
Oblivion is fun as hell to play stoned too. Amazing scenery in the game!

My problem with Fallout 3 is that it gets too easy after awhile. I'm playing on very hard, maxed at level 30, and I've been killing everything with one VATS shot for quite some time now...

the only single player RPG i've gotten into recently was the original stalker, and that was because i came across a bunch of really cheap adderall
i really can't get into the whole single player RPG thing though. i mean, how can you guys invest all that time in your characters when you are the only person that is going to see them? if i'm going to waste my life powering up a character, i want to pwn some noobs with him gosh darnit.

Because 99% of MMOs don't do as good of a job immersing you in the world as games like Fallout 3, and Oblivion do. Who cares if you can pwn noobs in an RPG, I got L4D to do that.

From what Ive read the Oblivion world is something like 50% larger than Morrowind with much more packed into it. Seems reasonable to me, I dominated Morrowind and am currently in the process of doing the same to Oblivion. Oblivion seems bigger, anyways I like it more regardless of size.

in any case they're all good free-roaming rpg's, and I guess i shouldn't have said "s'posed to", fallout 3 was "hyped up to" be oblivion with guns. What I mean is Morrowind and Oblivion seemed so huge and awesome, and I accidentally beat Fallout, it was too easy, too short.

Fallout is all about the side quests, as I would argue Oblivion is too. To be honest I thought the main quest in Oblivion sucked. It was mostly a lot of running through repetitive annoyingly red environments to get to a tower and steal some shit out of it that somehow closes a gate and poops you, but nothing else, out the other side.
The guild quests, and other "group" quests were awesome as hell, though! I particularly enjoyed the Assassin's group.
I obsessed totally over Fallout 3 for like 2 or 3 weeks, bought two of the DLC expansions, and totally maxed out my character. One of the expansions raised the level cap to 30, and my guy is ridiculous. I have like 8 skills at 100, and all of my stats are at 9, with the exception of intelligence which is at 10. I've got power armor that never degrades, bunches of extra fully repaired copies of every weapon worth using, and ridiculous benefits from all the perks. I'm just an unstoppable killing machine......and that's what made the game lose its magic. I'm pretty damn sure it's not possible to be more badass than my guy is now in that game, I've got nothing left to strive for. I wish they would have made the game more difficult.
Maybe it's just my power-gaming approach to these games, though. I had the same complaint about Oblivion once I got the character creation down. Illusion + sneak + some kinda weapon = unstoppable killing machine once you get illusion to 50 and can invis yourself. Invis yourself, wait for mana to regen, sneak up on a dude with zero effort, power attack him with melee to get 4X damage, then cast invis on yourself again. Sneak away, let mana regen, repeat. Eventually you can work up other skills like destruction so you can just do sneak attack then touch damage spells and kill basically any single creature in the game. Then all you have to do is invis and repeat.
The best was in Morrowind where you could get your barter skill so high that you could buy shit from merchants and then sell it right directly back to them for more than you bought it for. From there you could train any skill as high as you wanted because trainers had no limits and if you had they gold they'd keep training ya. The best skill to train right away was acrobatics. When you got it to 100 you could jump from town to town, it was really pretty cool. If you were to take things to scale this allowed you to jump at least a mile forawrd, and quite a ways straight up. It was so cool to walk into a town, jump straight up, and start wasting everybody in town by hurling down fireballs from the sky.
Bethesda rocks.

Ya, I didn't really care for the 1st and 2nd though. I mean, I liked the concept obviously but I really enjoy the freedom of fallout 3.
