Continuous LC

Alright, so about a week ago I made an LC so I wouldn't have to keep inoculating from a print. I purposely put VERY little honey in to see how much was actually necessary for myc growth. Well, I guess I didn't put enough in because the myc has maxed out at about the size of a penny. This got me thinking though.. instead of doing LCs jar to jar, what if one were to just add more nutrients into the already existing LC jar? I'm testing this out right now to see exactly how dense I can create an LC. Does anyone have any experience with this? Or has anyone tried this?
**EDIT**
The nutrients that I'm adding are pre-sterilized to avoid contam.

As long as what you are adding to the jar is contaminant free I can not see why this would not work.

It has been tried. And it is not a good idea. Better just to do more than one. You can do infinite amounts of LC with one LC.

1 to 25 ratio works for me when I make LCs. I think it will be a cool experiment. I think after a while the water would become toxic from waste.
Maybe you could pressure cook some jars with a strong concentration of honey and inject that. Or if you can find a big enough gage needle a unopened bottle of karo should be pretty clean from the store. just stick the needle in the side of the bottle.

Honey is a preservative so too much will inhibit growth.
A question like this was asked some time ago. This was the answer.

I did 4% honey and it worked like a charm... I just put in 4g of honey for each 96g of water, then PC'ed it.
I would start from scratch, just for the sake of having a sterile start.

My last post got me thinking if you could find a big enough gage needle to suck up Karo (I tried it once for measuring, with an 18 gage but karo was too thick) you could make a LC without even using your stove. An unopened bottle of distilled water injected by a sringe filled with karo. Then inject the water bottle with spores through the same hole tape over the hole when done. Shake the hell out of it. Done in less then 10 mins start to finish

If this is your attitude, growin shrooms may not be for you.
The only thing more important than being clean is being patient. Mixing the LC, then PC'ing may take more time, but that time is well spent.

I do this kinda stuff for the fun of it. I dont find it a hassle. Well I do hate the scrubbing down the house part before I do anything. But It is always cool to find new ways to do things. If that is your attitude, How will you ever grow at all?

Hmm, I don't really think that would work. I kinda have doubts that injecting karo into a water bottle would be sterile without PC'ing.
Plus you dont want too much or too little karo.
I guess you should try just because you like that sort of thing and post back.
But LC can look perfect but really be contaminated the entire time.
