My lids rust after a few uses as im sure everyone elses do.
Does it hurt anything?
OR
Do you just replace the lids all the time?
ALSO If i switched to plastic jars... I heard they don't last very long.. True?

A bit of rust is fine, all my lids have some. I haven't used plastic lids or jars. ~Pixie~

I've used dirty-as-hell (sterilized of course), rusty lids with wonderful results.

You will be fine. Rust is a chemical reaction, not the result of bad evil micro organisms. They will rust, and are still usuable. When they get really rusty, replace them.

When they get really rusty, rub them with a green scouring pad and they are good as new. I use metal lids for several years before replacing them. If you prefer, you can get new lids and rings at the grocery store. RR

Yeah, scrubber pads work incredible. And no need for ebay to get lids. They usually sell just the lids and bands right next to jars at Walmart/Grocery store/Target or whever you prefer. They are quite cheap too.
Several yrs RR? That's pretty impressive. Then again, that should be expected from a guy who can grow cubensis out of a bible!
