Yeah, it actually just says Astrophytum quadricostatum on the tag but when I searched for pictures of it they all said Myriostigma. Which is the right name?

Your capricorne looks more like an ornatum (sp?) to me. I may be wrong though. Nice plants!

It says Capricorne on the tag but I was thinking the same thing when I looked at pictures. The spines are starting to curve though so who knows.

I'm 90% certain its an ornatum.

Ornatum

Capricorne (I wish the pic wasn't blurry. Nicest specimen I've ever seen)

While there are different varieties of both of these, the ornatum has a "stem", and capricorne does not. Also the white markings On ornatums tends to be spots, while the capricorne seems to have a pattern. The spines helps little IMO because those vary on capricornes a great deal. However, I will say I've never seen one like that.

Too bad all my Astros died. I'm pissed about it a great deal :crankey:

I would contact your seller. Send them a pic of your cactus, and just see what they say. It may be an honest error.

Yeah, it probably is a Ornatum. Either way I like it. Astrophytums are a beautiful species.
