That's actually exactly what i did. it worked like a charm. The Medicann doc gave me a 3 month probationary script because i had absolutely NO medical records showing any need for medical marijuana. The Dr told me i had that long to bring in some type of medical record, and he was even like, "An old prescription bottle can legally be a medical record; i just need something" .. So I went to my reg Dr and told him about my trouble sleeping, told him i was waking up for work late cause i couldn't get to sleep(Not untrue) and asked what he recommended. He(My reg Dr) gave me just the typical avoid caffeine, watching TV before bed, blah blah blah. So I asked him if he thought Ambien would help me, he said no, I then asked if he would just write me a note saying a have insomnia and have trouble sleeping so i could give it to my manager and get some tardies excused. He wrote that note for me, which i took straight to my Medicann Dr and i got a one yr recommendation, that i just have to renew every year. I LOVE having my card. Just knowing i can legally have my stash with me everywhere I go, I smoke anywhere its legal to smoke tobacco. Granted i did that even before my card cause, well, it is California, but now i do it with a more carefree spirit, lol.

When I get some strains going well come out and have a smoke sesh. Me and my fiance actually are planning to move to Cali eventually. Im thinking about waiting to get my license out there since you have to get a separate one for every state.
