Dry Monotub; Low humidity; high heat.

Ok, so i have been working on this particular set up for a while now and i am kind of at a stand still because of how things are going. I used rye mycobags inoculated with PES Hawiian culture. The bags colonized fine and i have been fruiting two of the bags invitro, and i spawned one to bulk.

The bulk substrate was composed of Jiffy Mix and was pasturized at 170-160 degrees over night. After cooling and sterilizing EVERYTHING (Every step of the way i have kept a very close eye on Sterilization), i built a monotub using Monstermitches TEK. My tub was a little more shallow then the larger tubs, but is opaque and was lined with a black gargage bag, and has three holes about 3/4in on each long side, and two holes on one of the short sides, all filled with polyfill for FAE.
The condiditons of the room are somewhat unstable temp. wise, but during inital spawning to bulk, the temp stayed at a moderate 80 degrees. Colonization reached about 70% after over a month of darkness and i moved the tub into FC. This is when things got messy. Humidity was good inside of the tub (or so i thought) and a few decent pre mature growths occured.
After the biggest of the few began to open i decided to remove them and this killed my humidity. since that time pin sets have been decent but nothing special, and now everything is aborting. I cant seem to raise the humidity and my substrate is drying out bad. Its VERY hot here (northern Cali) and temps reach 90-100 and even in my basement i can only get the temp down to about 78, possibly hotter inside the tub itself. I have turned to misting and fanning 3-5 times per day and every thing that has grown since has either aborted or opened exptremly prematurly. What can i do to cool it down, raise the hum, and save this mess! I was thinking about making a new monotub with a Cool mist, drip shield, and drainage. Any thoughts?

if you are going to use a cool mist your better off making a greenhouse type set up imo. If you cant keep your temps below 75f lots of fresh air exchange will help keep contaims away but you will lose more moisture. How about a humidifier running in small room with the monotub?

That is definetly a possibility. I have a secluded small room, but that room is in the highest point of the house and is hotter than the basement. Would the humidifier help to reduce temp in a small room as well?
What about setting up a small tent with a cool mist running inside, that would give me the ability to keep the tub in the basement while making the room size smaller. Or would the risk of contams be too high?

Also i was thinkin of just building a new monotub, a shallower one, soaking some perlite and moving my casing over. But this still leaves the temp issue. Would it be safe to soak the perlite in a fridge to cool it down, thus cooling the casing?

And one final thing. I have knowticed white fuzz growing up some of the aborts, Humidity issue correct?

sorry for the late reply.

first I think you missed my point about the cool mist. It wont bring your temps down just bring up the humidity so things wont dry out as much or as fast. Many contaminates like higher temps than cube myc but they also dont like too much fresh air and fresh air is the main trigger to cause pinning. So you want lots of fresh air but you still need to keep the humidity high.

I think a tent is your best bet and if you can keep the humidity inside the tent above 85% you should take the top off your tub all together.

the idea of putting the perlite in the fridge is not a bad one But that would only buy you a brief relief from the heat no?

I am not sure what causes the fuzz but I get it too sometimes and it doesnt hurt anything. I really would worry about it.
