Use a Spore Print on Cow Manure?
    #10596786 - 06/30/09 09:14 AM (15 years, 6 months ago)

Hello Everyone!

We are wondering, has anyone here ever used a spore print on fresh manure?

We have created a lovely P. Cubensis spore print and want to use it to inoculate the cow manure we have but we also dont want to waste the spore print. Everyone here is very "pro" growing indoors but we really want to keep it outdoors.

Can anyone direct me to the tech that tells exactly how to remove spores from the print once they are dry. I know I found the tek before but Ive since lost it.

Thanks in advance!!!!

You could sprinkle spores onto cow poo. I think it's a waste, but that's because I grow indoors.
I doubt there's much info here about what you are trying- you're a pioneer.

I would say this- it's probably best to use rehydrated spores. I think you should go ahead and make spore syringes or spore water from your print as the first step.
Then shoot up patties or BRF cakes or whatever you like.

if you dont want to waste the print then you need to start off indoors then spawn to the poo outdoors.
make a syringe or LC or agar then inoculate jars..then use the jars to spawn to your poo.
find an outdoor tek that suits your situation. and good luck.

You could soak pasteurized straw in spore water, maybe.

Sure would be easier to grow it on rye grain, then spawn it.

Yea, if you want the inside of your substrate to stay uncolonized. Make a culture and inject to the outsides and middle.

If you're in the climate where cubes grow naturally, simply lift a bunch of cow pies and set a whole print, or a fresh cap under each patty.  Hopefully, within a year or so you should have a new field established.

You could also use some of those mushrooms your husband just found and spore print onto apple slices or crackers and feed them to the cows in the fields. This might establish a new field.

If you are trying to inoculate some manure in your home yard etc, it would be best to grow some pf cakes or grain and then spawn it to the manure outdoors.
