trying to assist in FAE without hurting humidity

HI guys, ive read and searched many posts and cant seem to find the right answer.
this is my first grow and i am using the PFtek with the shotgun FC
i work several 12 hour shifts throughout the workweek and i am concerned about not being able to fan as much as i should. i was considering putting a glass of water in the FC with an airstone/bubbler inside to help with FAE. My concern is if this would hurt the humidity level, and if i dial in the pump to low, will it even even be effective for fresh air?
thanks for the help!

I don't think you'll have a problem with FAE as long as you fan whenever you can and leave a small fan on low. Remember to mist also when you fan.

part of the ingenuity of the shotgun terrarium is that you don't have to fan and mist constantly. sure, there are going to be times where you will need to fan and/or mist, but it overall it should be very minimally.
just keep an oscillating fan in the room and you should be good.

I wouldn't suggest leaving it right in front of the terrarium nor pointing directly at it. You just want some air movement in the room so the CO2 in the FC gets replaced with fresh air.

Key word "Oscillating" You do not want constant air blowing on your shotgun that will dry things out too much. You can automate with a timer too if you want a little more control. FAE'a are most important by far during pinning stage.

Oscillating fan. And it's worth the extra $3 (or $0 if you have one laying around somewhere) to put it on a timer so it isn't on continuously.

Fan before you leave and when you arrive!

I believe what they are saying is you should mist and fan while your not at work. But to make up for not being able to fan while you are working, you should have an oscillating fan on in the room to help provide the fae. While your gone at work the perlite will provide enough humidity.

Perlite is for RH. You mist to replenish the water in the substrate.

When I was first experimenting with the shotgun terrarium design, I was on 12 hour shifts, and going camping nearly every weekend. I wanted something that would take care of itself. Mist before you leave for work and again when you get home and it will work fine. RR
