if you are talking about amsterdam-coffeeshops in general, yes you can. people come in and out and take j's back for their personal use . you can nicely smoke a j with the tender as well, very fun, much reccomend. the dutch are hellla friendly.

You have a set limit on the amount of weed you can buy from each coffee shop.
Thankfully, there is an easy solution to that problem. You just go from shop to shop and stock up on your supply!

Yes, you can leave with it; in fact that's what many people do.
I believe that coffeeshops are only supposed to sell you a maximum of five grams at a time, but a fair amount don't adhere to this policy. I've definitely bought more than five grams during a single visit to a coffeeshop. Plus, they don't keep track of who they sell it to, so they really have no way of knowing how much they sell to you, if you want to buy some and then go back later.

Is cannabis legal in Holland?
Strictly speaking, no. Possession of small quantities is decriminalised, meaning it's a non-criminal offence like a parking ticket. In practice, even the law against selling cannabis is not enforced in Amsterdam.
Can one smoke anywhere in Amsterdam?
No. It's not that you're likely to get arrested, it's simply a matter of good manners. Some bars and hotels don't mind smoking pot but others detest it. If you want to know whether it's cool to smoke in a place, just ask politely.
Are all drugs acceptable?
The Netherlands is not the Wild West. On the contrary, it's exceptionally civilised with a sensible and constructive attitude to drugs. The use of cannabis is tolerated. The likes of cocaine and heroin are not. Having said that, ecstasy and even cocaine testing kits are available in the smartshops.
Never buy any drugs on the street. You *will* get ripped off. Stick to the coffeeshops and smartshops.
That should help a bit.

Actualy, you can just by the herb and leave but you know what? The shop doesn't like it because they want you to stay and enjoy it with Tea/Edibles that cost extra, and that's where they make the real money that funds and runs the shop...
So please just don't say yes you can just take it and go, because most shops hate that shit, others will let it slide...
But have any of you been to a Coffee shop in Amsterdam? if not, then don't act like you know what they do...

This is completely inaccurate.
You're buying a product from them; they are making money. Why would they care if you buy a cup of tea or a soda? It's just like a takeout restaurant as you can sit down and order some drinks or you can just pick the food up and leave. It's really not a big deal in either instance.
I'm pretty sure most of their profit margin isn't coming from fruit drinks, coffee or soda.
However, it is considered rude to smoke in a coffeeshop if you didn't buy marijuana there. THEN, you're expected to buy a drink or something along those lines.
