Hopefully last thread - first timer - birthing and growing - pf tek

So, I actually have read up and watched some videos but I wanted to check up before I go further because I've made some mistakes already including leaving tape on the jar lids during colonization.
My jars are almost all the way colonized. It is extremely dense cottony growth all the way around the jars except for about a quarter-sized spot on the bottom. So I am planning to wait about another week and then do this:
1. Birth the cakes 2. Dunk them in water for 24 hours 3. Roll them in dry verm 4. Put them in my terrarium 5. 12 on 12 off grow light
For my terrarium I have a large rubber-made container, I am going to drill holes in the sides and fill the bottom with wet perlite.
Is this correct? Any tips?
Has anyone ever tried injecting more water into the cakes with a syringe to get a second flush? Is there any simple way to get a second flush? I used 1 syringe of spores on 6 jars, so I think I should have enough spores for a second flush if that makes any difference.
One video said that growing should only take 7-10 days if you leave them in the jars for a week after full colonization. Is this about right? When they are done can I just snip them with scissors?

your steps 1-5 all seems right to me. And your terrarium sounds good, just make sure you maintain proper himidity and fae and your good to go.
Now what your saying about having enough spores for a second flush, that makes no sense to me. You dont need spores for a second flush. Once you birth your cake into chamber, you should have fully mature shrooms within 7 days or so, you pic them, dunk again for another 24 hours to rehydrate the cake, then place back in fruiting chamber, and your 2nd flush will begin.
and so on and so on until your cake runs out of nutrients, usually you get 1-3 flushs out of a half pint cake.

-Do NOT inject your cakes with your spore syringe if it still has spores in it. If you have another empty syringe that you can load with water, yes, people have done that, but if the humidity in your FC stays high and you dunk after each flush, you probably shouldn't have to.
-Drill holes in the bottom and top of the terrarium as well, per RR's video
-You don't need to snip the shrooms; just grab by the base, pinch, and twist, they'll come right off when they're ready. Don't worry about the vermiculite that is stuck to the base if you're going to dry them... it'll fall off after they're dry.
-Can you get a picture of the jar with the uncolonized spot on the bottom? If it is a wet spot (which it likely could be) you can hold the jar upside down and give it a whack and chances are it'll colonize in the next couple days. If it sits uncolonized for much longer, you can cut that part out with a knife when you birth.
Edit: Here are some pictures of a jar with a wet spot on the bottom; it was cut off a couple days later and it fruited just fine.

Good luck =)

Thanks!
I didn't mean injecting with more spores, just water. But per your advice, I'll just dunk again.
I may birth sometime in the next few days. Thanks all!
