a few random questions

1) Where do you get tyvek (or something similar)?
2) If a cake is spent, will injecting honey water or rice flour water restore the nutrients and allow it to fruit again?
3) How do you use your spent cakes?

1.)post office(they have big tyvek envelopes for free you can even order them online & have them delivered for free!) 2.)no 3.)trash.. compost..

It's a federal crime to use Post Office Tyvek for anything other than mailing things. Go get Tyvek from a construction site, or a kite store. Or buy Tyvek coveralls and cut them up.

If you go with the envelope tyvek just remember it is thinner than construction tyvek. I use envelope tyvek on top of a lid lightly stuffed with poly-fill.
I am switching to filter discs here in a couple weeks though, for my first summer oyster grow! ~Pixie~
