How to grow larger mushrooms

So Im wondering... I've noticed that the yields of mushrooms grown from cow/horse poo are much larger than those of PF cakes (BRF and what not).
Theres 3 casings, one is 3 cakes Cambodian, one is 3 cakes Mexi-Albino, and one is one cake PESA. All half pts.
All of the casings are growing fine, decently even flushes, the mexi-albinos and PESA tend to be smaller whereas the cambodes are much larger.
However, they're not like the mushrooms I've seen in grow logs and what not using added nutrient layers, so heres what I was wondering..
After a few more flushes from my casings, once it begins to stall out can I crumble the casing, possibly dunk it?, and add it to a pasteurized cow poo/vermiculite mixture? Let it incubate and colonize, then re-case it or possibly just fruit as is?
Would it allow the mycellium to absorb nutrients and continue producing larger mushrooms or is it a waste of time?

Waste of time to try to beef up existing cakes or tubs. Build a better, richer nutrient base for your next grow.

That sounds like kinda a sketchy plan. If you want consistantly bigger fruits, you gotta get into cloning. Clone from big fruits, you will get big fruits as long as your fruiting conditions are good (also key-high humidity and good fresh air exchange)).
you can crumble cakes and spawn to bulk (poo, coir, etc) but I wouldn't do it with cakes that have already flushed. Just start yourself a new batch of jars, then crumble and spawn to bulk.

Mushrooms are 90% water so for a start you want to make sure your substrate has plenty of water. Also you want to be replacing moisture that evaporates during fruiting, whihc will also help pinning.
Food source and how much mycelium you have can make a difference too. But i think the main 1 is moisture.
Pinset is going to effect mushroom sise too, the more mushrooms you have, the higher demand from the substrate (food and moisture) .
If you have a substrate covered in mushrooms that dont abort, those are going to be smaller than a substrate that pinned much less. Bigger isnt always better, i prefer the total yeild as a judge of performance.
Also ginetics will play a role in how your fruits develop. Grows that you see producing fruits that all look pretty similar and are about the same size are probably isolates or atleast a clone.
Also remembner that generaly as you get each flush, you will get fewer shrooms but larger mushrooms. Mushrooms from say flush 3 are usually much bigger than mushroos from the first flush.
What are you actually using, you say casing but that is commenly used to wrongly describe substrate in a tray/tub wehter it actually has a casing layer or not.
And im not sure what you mean by added nuitrient layers. You dont add a nuitrient layer to substrate. you add a casing layer which isnt really food for fungus and just serves as a moisture reserviour and to create a microclimate benificial for pinning.

Ok, so basically I have to be able to clone, and make my own syringes from the big ones. Which fruiting method could potentially produce a higher yield? The 50/50+ casing layer is doing quite well and is easy.

I've seen biguns from various fruiting methods. I like monotubs. I hear straw can kick out some outrageous big ones, but I've never messed around with it. I use rye to coir. I'm not concerned about huge fruit though, as long as there's plenty of them. If you want big try penis envy stain. Haven't grown them myself, but I've seen some pics of some horse dicks for sure. I hear they can be quite slow though.

if you want bigger fruits you should use a bulk substrate and when the fruits pin you should pick many but not all of the pins so that the mycelium puts it effort into developing the pins you didnt pick instead of all the pins. if you want one extremely large fruit you could pick all but 4, wait till they develop to make sure theyre not aborts and then pick all but 1.

Never thought of that. Kinda makes sense though. It's like when they grow those giant pumpkins how they only allow one per plant.

if you want BIG try SA, OI or ED... none other will perform to those standards except maybe b+, gt, or PESH

Well certain strains grow differently, but what the two said above are true; nutrients and strain isolation. I mean think of it like buying commercial morning glory seeds. You can throw those in the ground and water then and they grow insanely fast. This is because someone isolated or genetically altered the strain. You can compare marijuana strains from the 70's to present day; present day's strains have been isolated to extremes and hence are far more powerful, faster growing, and larger yielding. Marijuana growers "selectively breed" to create better strains. You can do the same with fungi.
I would believe that creating more robust strains would be far more effective in the long run, but the process will take patience and time. Using more nitrates in the substrate can yield more, and more perlite. If we could only find a bacteria which creates a symbiotic relationship with the fungi, killing dangerous bacterium and creating an effective environment for the fungi to thrive. Increasing water to the substrate is effective, but make sure the water is clean, as it is easy to introduce bacteria into the culture with increased water.
Unfortunately many of the tools to combat bacteria kill fungi, otherwise it would be nice to run batches of ozone into the growth containers to kill of bacterium.
