110F outside.... not in my FC.
lol thought you meant inside. i did think that would maybe make it very hard to humidify, the hotter it is the more moisture air can hold.

also the might not be colonized in the middle which just makes you wait longer for pins
How long were the bulk cakes colonizing before you birthed them into the FC? One of the biggest causes of decreased yields/results in PF cakes is birthing prior to FULL colonization of the interior of the cake. If I was attempting a larger bulk style cake I would allow an even longer time frame for colonization prior to birthing.. probably something in the range of ~15 days after the appearance of full colonization, or the appearance of in vitro pins.

Thats not the reason for waiting a full week. When the outside is colinised the middle is colinised. So what about when your spawning to bulk? do you wait a full week before spawning. You spawn when its colinised the outside. because the inside will be colinised.
The 1 week wait is to allow mycelium to digest the food it has colinsied in preperation for fruiting. And thats what can cause poor performance when birthing early because it has to continue digesting food while its drying out, and for some reason it may not properly digest all the food it needs to beacuse its all of a sudden getting signs to fruit.
I had a few cakes that only grew from 2 inoc points, well mycelium popped out the other side before mycelium reached around the jar. I also had jars that mycelium popped out the bottom before the outside reached round. There goes the theory to make sure the middle colinised. Trust me, its colinsied.

All I'm pointing out is that perhaps the OP hadn't allowed his cakes to fully colonize prior to birthing, irrespective of the specifics of cake colonization in general. As you mention, it is recommended to allow the myc to gather a full hold on the substrate prior to birthing.
OP never said how long he waited after the appearance of full colonization to birth. That is a relevant question.
Sorry.. it's been a while.. my semantics may be a smidge loose.

I did not wait after 100% on any of them. This is the closest thing to PF that I have ever done. The ones I waited the longest on, are performing the worst. I was satisfied with 250g wet per cake. Is overlay a risk with something like this?

I think I am going to Scratch, Dunk, and then Roll these Cakes. After I harvest, of course. What do you think?
