Black Mold / Green mold - Goes through tyvek?

Recently some jars have gone to mushie heaven. They have been infected with green and black mold. Not through inoculation point. It seems to have started on top. Using tyvek covering.

I did have mold problems in my grow area before and I wonder if spores could go right through the tyvek?

What grade of tyvek? Did you clean up good after your contam?

If you keep having problems change to a different filter setup.

Is your layer of tyvek over-the-top of a lid? ~Pixie~

mould will have no problem colinising through a filter. it will stop spores but if the spores can germinate it will grow right through. Make sure your filter isnt getting damp

Filters are not 100%, that's why we need to toss out contaminated jars as soon as discovered. I've often had a jar get trich, and then a few days later discover it in adjacent jars on the same shelf. If a filter stops 99.99% of a few billion spores, that's still a few thousand that can get through.

thats a very good point.

If your colinisation area has a high spore count then that could be a problem. 99.9% filters are graet but when you consider how many spores coul dbe present thats still alot that could get through your filter.
