strain isolation help
    #10579906 - 06/27/09 12:17 AM (15 years, 6 months ago)

I had some extra agar plates from a couple of months ago and some leftover LC from some panaeolus cambodginiensis (Florida, Sandose domesticate), so I thought I'd take another stab at strain isolation.

The initial tray showed maybe a half dozen sectors, and I ended up taking a transfer from the fastest growing of those.

Here's what they look like now (front and back images lined up)

Plate 1

Plate 2

Is there any visible sectoring in the first one?  The three in the first plate and the top right wedge in the second plate seem to be showing the most promising growth.  Should I do another transfer?

It's often hard to tell, but they look good to me. You're going to have to make one more transfer regardless though to seperate them from each other. I would make at least 4 more plates with a culture of each  on it's own dish.
