Need ID on a few NSW, Australia
    #10579596 - 06/26/09 10:59 PM (14 years, 8 months ago)

Okay I've been for a bit of a hunt yesterday and was wondering if any of these were active?

I found this when I was moving some bark from around a tree. Is it mycelium?

3 - is this a pan cyan maybe? EDIT: P. Sub

Most of those I don't think are active because none of them blue'd. I just sqeezed the stem, is that what you do to check?

The main one's I'm interested in are 3 and 9. Any info would be appreciated. Cheers

Pan Cyans grow on dung in warmer areas, like northern NSW or southern QLD. They dont grow around this time of year (in NSW) i dont think anyway.

9 Is a cortinarius - usually toxic. The blue colouring in this species does not mean it is active.

3, 6 & 7 look closest to P. Subaeruginosa, which is what youre after, but many many mushrooms look similar to p.Sub to the untrained eye, and the lack of bluing makes it obvious its not a sub..

Thanks mate I got cyan and subs mixed up. Good thing the I don't rely on it blueing to see if its active.

Is that white stuff mycelium?

looks like it but it could be from any kind of mushroom/mould/random fungi. Its near impossible to tell exactly what mycelium belongs to what in the wild- unless youre pulling mushrooms out of it, then you have an idea .
