Do they have equally high FAE requirements??

They have pretty high requirements... see how the caps are super small and how some have none at all? Thats an indication that they need more FAE... same thing happened with my last batch of Kings. When I cut holes in my GH they resumed with normal growth.

Coming along, I just tonight unzipped the zippers quite a bit more, and turned up the timing on the ultrasonic.... this should quadruple the amount of FAE so we will see if it helps.

Now that the GH is getting more air, these guys are developing nicely! Keep in mind, these are growing off used paper towels, shredded office paper, and cardboard!

One of their favorites. I've seen some Pl. eryngii on shredded college rule explode.

You should pluck a few of those little isolated buttons so the others can get bigger.

Nice! I cant wait my blocks are about a week behind yours. Those are the size that are commercially available to restaurants , the smaller ones are marketed as " french horns". I had ones with the cap about the size of a portabella last week , and they were still really good.

Great! I have a second king oyster block only its made of straw and Horse poo, its pinning as we speak so I will be able to directly compare the size and yield of paper products vs. hpoo/straw.
Should be interesting!
.... but ..... so do these look like they are ready to pick? I probably wont be able to pick them until tomorrow evening otherwise...

id say they look ready to pick this time. next time round try and give em a lot more fresh air so the caps develop more and the stems are not so so long.
good work!!

I couldnt wait ...... lol
So I picked them, cut some up and put them in a frying pan with some olive oil, garlic salt, and cracked pepper. Chopped up half an onion and sauteed them up ...
Once they browned up nicely, I added some of my homemade appfelwein (basically an applish white wine) and let it simmer until it reduced.

Of course while I had a glass to myself ........
Then when it further reduced down to an oil base once again I added a pack of fresh spinach until not quite cooked all the way down, but just right.
WAS DELISH-US lol .... the texture really reminded me of scallops, very, very much so ... although they do have a nice mushroomy flavor very unlike store bought buttons. Hard to explain, but very good!

Noice ozz fucking noice.
I have beer (yeast is a fungus) so I am not terribly jealous but still I wish I had some shit like that to fry up. I mean the only mycological meal I can get right now is old Oyster P.s that are dried or the potatoes from PDA (technically a mycological meal).
