Do you guys think I should trip?

  I've always wondered what it was like to trip and it's something I really want to do.  However I have a slight anxiety problem and sometimes when I get really stoned I even have panic attacks!  It would probably be pretty scary if I had a panic attack while tripping. heh!  But I was thinking maybe if I sat down with 2 of my closest friends who have also tripped before, then I might be ok? 

  We can hardly ever get shrooms where I live and I'm so glad I found this site.  I'll be doing a great thing bringing in an ounce or so of fresh shrooms, via PF tek for my friends and I. :smile:  Another thing I was wondering, how potent are the PF Classic shrooms?  Should I only take like half an eigth or so?  I only want to expierience maybe a level 2 or 3 trip.  I weigh around 170ish but I'm known to have a very creative mind, I don't know if thats a good or bad thing.  One of my friends even told me "You should never do shrooms".  That was after I was closed my eyes and could see all sorts of things just by imagining them while stoned as all hell off a delicous sativa strain. :smile: 

  A good friend of mine ate 5 grams of shrooms and only got a mild body high.  The girl that sold them to him said she "tripped balls" off one eigth...I hate dealers. :frown:  Oh well, with your help I can bring in a steady supply for my close friends and I. :smile:

learn to chill, meditate, take some opiates, or drink, you will trip regardless of what we say and with that, GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN! :laugh:

  I started taking kava kava and st johns wort and I'm starting to feel less anxious. :smile:  I'll look into meditation as well. Thanks guys!

I started low by eating 24.3 wet grams of B+ im gonna eat 40-50 grams next time. ive also wondered what its like to trip but I can handle it. nothing to fear but fear itself

I seriously recommend you don't eat 50 grams for your second trip. Things can get pretty scary when you can't tell yourself from the room.

Remember shrooms are not for everyone...but if you REALLY want to trip, but are scared of panic attacks, take a couple of xanex and you should be ok.

Kava's OK but be careful you don't use it too heavily or take while you're drinking - can have a pretty damaging effect on the liver esp when mixed with alcohol...some guy in Europe had to have a transplant  :frown:

as long as you haven't got Hep of some kind you should be okay with it....

I think what it normally comes down to is that if deep down you're expecting something bad to happen, your dream will come true and you won't enjoy at least parts of your trip.

However if deep down you're REALLY TRUELY expecting a comfortable and magical experience, it will be fantastic.

Thats generall been my experience.

What exactly is your "anxiety problem"? When you get "panic attacks" on weed, are you talking about being somewhat hyper & freaked out & paranoid, or racing heart, sweats, dizziness? How old are you?

When it happens my heart starts beating like a jack hammer...close to 200 beats per minute. I also couldn't feel my face and thought I was suffocating. It's some scary shit.

man ever since i joined the shroomery there has been a constant stream of people talking about this same type of experience.

I went through what seems like the same thing, but whenever I got one of these "attacks" I would lay back and close my eyes and get myself comfortable with whatever it was that happens during this thing.

Now they happen still but don't even phase me - they're actually quite psychedelic ;-)

I hear what you're saying, dude. But a real panic attack is quite distinct from the panicky-anxiety-freaking thing that can happen while tripping. They happen to some people when they're not tripping, which let's ya' know there's something else going on. Folks say they're terrifying and completely uncontrollable...they just pass on their own. What you're talking about can often be controlled by the tripper. They're different animals.

i'm not talking about the panicy-anxiety-freaky thing that can happen while tripping.. I'm talking about the thing that happens while NOT on mushrooms (oftentimes on pot?)

Yes, they're quite different things. I find it's quite easy to smoke way too much pot and then have some kind of anxiety attack (heart beating really fast, twitching, negative thoughts). Should keep in mind that pot and shrooms are two different drugs, and there's really no way to know how one will react to shrooms if all they've done is smoked pot. I say go for it, but keep the dosage low. Anxiety attacks aren't GENERALLY a problem on low doses shroom trips, depending on the person. Have a sitter watch over you, and let the good times roll!
Mind you, sometimes I do get the same on pot (twitchy, negative thoughts, trouble breathing, fear, and fast heartbeat), but I've never had a bad trip yet. Once you realise that you can change the way a trip is going if you realise early enough, then you can do a lot to avoid bad trips (exceptions are those extremely high dose trips...that would take a hell of a lot to steer right if it went wrong).
